Ultrazon Inc., doing business as Ultrazon, is an American multinational startup technology company in e-commerce. It was incorporated on May 6, 2024, and its founder and chief executive officer is Stan Switaj, who also programmed its shopping platform. The company can be reached on 1-(800)-581-4770.
Ultrazon is the consolidation of three earlier websites Switaj founded and programmed from 2020 onward — BestInternetSearch, GitBusiness and UltraHot.TV — brought together under a single company he conceived in 2023 and has been implementing since. Its product is an online marketplace and the software that runs it, written from first principles in Python 3 with PostgreSQL and no web framework.
History
The three predecessor sites were built separately between 2020 and 2023, each addressing a different area — search, source hosting for businesses, and streaming video. Switaj's stated intention in 2023 was to consolidate them into one company, and Ultrazon Inc. was incorporated on May 6, 2024, with Switaj as chief executive officer.
Development of the Ultrazon platform is recorded version by version in the company's own project documentation, beginning at version 1.0 with a bare CGI page and no database at all. The 1.x series built the foundations — two PostgreSQL databases, session and visitor tracking, the router and page system, the slide-out menu and the appearance settings. The 2.x series brought the storefront proper: product search, product pages and reviews, the shopping cart, wish lists, accounts and the account-management area. The 3.x series has been about commerce and reach — the eBay catalogue pipeline, PayPal and card payment, guest checkout, order tracking, the company's own text-message gateway and translation into twelve further languages. The platform stood at version 3.14 in 2026.
The platform remains a work in progress rather than a launched storefront: development is ongoing and documented release by release, and as of September 2026 the ultrazon.com address serves a placeholder page.
Platform architecture
The Ultrazon site is written as plain Python 3 CGI: scripts compute a page in full and then print it, with no framework, no template engine and no object-relational mapper. A single entry point reads the request, establishes or restores the visitor's session, works out which page is being asked for, and executes that page's own file inside its namespace, so every page has the session, the visitor's preferences and the shared page furniture already available to it.
Storage is split across two PostgreSQL databases. One holds the people — users, sessions, visitors, login state, payments and password-reset tokens — and the other holds the commerce — products, carts, searches, lists and stores. The two are joined in Python rather than in the database, so no cross-database link is required.
Sessions are the spine of the site. A visitor is issued a session cookie anchored to the company's apex domain rather than to the particular subdomain in use, which is what allows the mobile and secure subdomains to share one signed-in session rather than fighting over duplicate cookies. The database, not the browser, is treated as the authority on what the session is. Browser and platform detection runs on every request, so a phone is served the mobile layout and an Android application build is recognised as such, and the site redirects between its own subdomains accordingly — a mobile visitor to the main domain, and the cart and account pages to the secure one.
Errors from any script are written to a server-side log directory rather than shown to visitors, and every page's appearance is decided on the server and written into the page before it is sent, so a returning visitor's dark mode or menu position does not flash into place after the page loads.
Development practice
The company keeps a detailed changelog of every version of the platform, together with a one-line public summary of each, and cuts a versioned archive for each release. Product photographs are archived separately from the source, since already-compressed images do not compress further and were doubling the size of every backup. Development is documented in the plain-language style of the company's release notes, which record faults found and fixed as well as features added.
